Big things are happening in Inwood, and the JFK-area industrial scene just scored another win. ECMS Express — a global logistics powerhouse — has signed on for 25,868 square feet at 95 Inip Drive, part of the sprawling Inwood Logistics Center.
And this isn’t just any industrial park — it’s in the middle of a major glow-up.
The Inwood Logistics Center isn’t your run-of-the-mill warehouse row. Made up of 10 buildings totaling over 500,000 square feet, it’s tucked just minutes from JFK International Airport — a dream location for companies who live and breathe speed, shipping, and global reach.
Back in September 2023, a partnership between Onyx Equities (Woodbridge, NJ) and Starwood Capital scooped up the 18-acre portfolio for $146 million from the Elias family, who held it for half a century. Since then, they’ve been busy planning upgrades to keep these buildings at the top of every logistics company’s wish list.
Think:
Fresh roofing for better protection
LED lighting for brighter, energy-efficient spaces
Infrastructure upgrades to keep operations running smooth
New loading capabilities to handle the hustle of modern logistics
According to Cushman & Wakefield, the brokerage team behind the deal, the goal is to make the center a go-to destination for premium industrial tenants who want to be close to the airport but still have room to operate and grow.
“We are thrilled to welcome ECMS Express to Inwood Logistics Center, further solidifying our vision for this portfolio as a go-to destination for premium industrial tenants near JFK,” said Matthew Flath, SVP of Asset Management at Onyx Equities.
If you’ve ever ordered something from across the world and had it at your door faster than you expected — there’s a good chance a company like ECMS was behind it.
Founded in 2013, ECMS Express is a global logistics solutions provider offering:
International air express
Freight forwarding
Contract logistics
End-to-end supply chain services
They operate in major trade hubs across China, Hong Kong, Singapore, the U.S., U.K., Europe, South Korea, and Japan, moving 50+ million parcels annually with a team of over 1,200 employees worldwide.
ECMS isn’t the only big name planting roots here. Since the Onyx-Starwood acquisition, the portfolio has locked in over 125,000 square feet in new leases, including:
Horizon Air Freight – 36,651 sq. ft. at 475 Doughty Blvd.
Pidy Gourmet, Inc. – 25,000 sq. ft. at 90 Inip Drive
Kennedy Transport Services, LLC – 28,000 sq. ft. at 95 Inip Drive
Laundrylux – 10,000 sq. ft. at 461 Doughty Blvd.
That’s a solid lineup of companies that keep planes, ships, and supply chains moving.
“The leasing momentum at Inwood Logistics Center highlights the strength of Onyx as an owner and investor, as well as the adaptability and prime location of the portfolio itself,” said Rico Murtha of Cushman & Wakefield.
With JFK Airport right next door, modern upgrades in the works, and a lineup of global players moving in, the Inwood Logistics Center is shaping up to be one of the hottest industrial addresses in New York’s logistics scene.
And with ECMS Express now in the mix, the pace isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
