What the high-end opening means for Long Island shoppers—and nearby real estate
RH (yup, the brand we all still call Restoration Hardware) is officially opening its three-level, 19,400-square-foot “gallery” at Americana Manhasset this Saturday, Sept. 27, at 2128 Northern Blvd.—in the former Brooks Brothers space. This becomes RH’s fourth Long Island location, joining two in East Hampton plus the RH Outlet in Commack.
Americana Manhasset is already a magnet for global luxury houses—think Hermès, Prada, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton—so RH’s arrival deepens the center’s design cred and gives North Shore homeowners a convenient spot to outfit entire rooms (or entire homes) in one stop. Center hours are 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday–Saturday and noon–6 p.m. Sundays; individual store hours can vary.
RH kicked things off with a Gary Friedman–hosted celebration that drew a who’s who of fashion, design, and entertainment—names like Christie Brinkley, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, Patrick McEnroe, Melissa Errico, and Nicky Hilton Rothschild among the guests. Translation: this isn’t just a store; it’s a scene.
Lifestyle pull = price support. Luxury retail is a leading indicator for affluent household growth. When brands like RH expand, it signals confidence in the North Shore’s spending power—good news for high-end housing demand.
Design at your doorstep. Big galleries shorten decision cycles on large furnishing purchases, which helps new homeowners settle in faster—and often translates into more listings being “show-ready” with that crisp, turnkey look buyers love.
Neighborhood halo. Expect more foot traffic and dining reservations along Northern Boulevard as shoppers make a day of it—an amenity boost you can highlight in listings from Manhasset to Plandome, Port Washington, and Roslyn.
RH reported about $3.18 billion in 2024 revenue (up ~5% YoY) and has reiterated a plan for high-single to low-teens revenue growth in 2025, even while calling the housing backdrop one of the toughest in decades and citing tariff and inflation risks. In short: they’re still expanding, and Manhasset made the cut.
